David Glenn Spivak grew up in Woodland Hills, California. While attending Southwestern University School of Law, Mr. Spivak externed for the Honorable Judith Chirlin and the Honorable Bernard Kaufman of the Los Angeles Superior Court, as well as the Department of Justice. After graduating from law school, Mr. Spivak became a member of the Bar of the State of California.
Mr. Spivak was subsequently admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Central, Southern, Eastern and Northern districts of California, and other courts throughout the nation. His practice has also extended to administrative tribunals, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), and the Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR / BIA). He has successfully tried cases before juries and administrative courts against such federal agencies as the Department of the Treasury and the Department of Justice. Mr. Spivak's areas of concentration include labor and employment law, federal employee rights, sexual harassment claims, civil rights, tort claims, privacy rights and general civil litigation and business litigation.
Mr. Spivak's work has resulted in several published decisions. He is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, the California Employment Lawyers Association, the Consumer Attorneys of Southern California, Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles.
In August 2005 Mr. Spivak was awarded the California State Bar Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services.
